Legislative session to start VIRTUALLY
With the rising number of Covid-19 cases in Delaware, our legislature has decided the best way to move forward is to start the session off virtually.
You can find the legislative schedule here.
The legislative website isn’t the most easy to navigate. Here are some tips!
You can click on each committee. This will open up that committee schedule, showing a list of all legislation assigned to that committee for that day.
To read the full bill, you must click on the bill number.
Each Chamber, Senate and House, has it’s own schedule. Both Chambers run separately and at the same time. This makes it difficult if there are bills running in each Chamber that you are interested in.
If you click on “meeting link”, you can register to watch and/or participate in that specific committee hearing. Once you do, you will be sent an email confirmation if registered successfully with a link to join.
Please make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the online platform to avoid technical issues.
When the first half of the session ended, SB 3 (permit to purchase) was left floating with a vow from Senator Elizabeth Lockman to be brought to a vote. This means it could be assigned a date at any time to be heard. Be vigilant!
If you are not a member of our private Facebook group, please join us there for daily discussion during the legislative session. You may post questions, initiate discussions, and share things relating to WDC. Please remember, this private group is not for discussing things unrelated to the WDC mission. We are a non-partisan group of women who care about a woman's ability to defend herself, but as individuals we hold individual beliefs outside of the 2nd Amendment and women’s safety. Those differences are not divisions and should not detract from the goal we all hold dear… our right to choose the means of protection that suits us best so that we can live with less fear and more freedom in a world where monsters do, unfortunately, exist.
